UN and women organizations are deliberately popularizing false statistics of violence on women (see the Advertisement above, by UNIFEM using Google ad syndication, the widget from UNIFEM is also blogged here)
Request go through the link of media radar, which will prove that UN themselves conceded that the above statistic of 70% Indian women are subjected to domestic violence is a false statistic.
Here is the correction by Washington post on the same subject after media radar cornered them.

Using a chart published in a 2005 U.N. Population Fund report — which the U.N. agency now says was misleading — a London Daily Telegraph article published in Nov. 13 editions of The Washington Times incorrectly stated the frequency of wife abuse in India. The agency says that it does not have sufficient data to provide such a figure and that the chart was intended to show that 70 percent of Indian women who were abused by their husbands think such abuse is justified in at least some circumstances.

As you can see a chart of UN was misquoted (must be deliberately by the fund-mongering feminazi, to show the “Ultra” sad situation in India so that more donations fall into their begging bowls!), the chart actually said “70 percent of Indian women who were abused by their husbands think such abuse is justified in at least some circumstances.”
See the truth with open eyes, do not succumb to the drivel that the feminist media wants you to chew on and get brainwashed for the promotion of their vested interests.
This is how they (economic terrorists like UN!) pump money into Indian and get mercenaries and feminazies to wreck destruction in Indian families. This is how errant wives are sustained and promoted! “Economic Terrorism” (as referred to by John Perkin’s book “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man”) is one reason why UN and hence USA is pushing family breaking laws into India and other countries (recent attempt being the attempt to introduce vexatious I-VAWA or the International (for all countries) Violence against Women Act, which will pump around 1 billion US dollars to women organizations and other family breaking projects).

We need to send the media after UN and US for pushing vexatious laws like I-VAWA in India, which is in fact their vehicle to subjugate India and other countries like that.
